Taunton Map

A beautifully located racecourse offering outstanding views of the Blackdown Hills. With 13 racemeetings per year, the course attracts an enthusiastic crowd. A countryside course with a countryside atmosphere boasting modern facilities and fine hospitality.

This small West Country track is a favourite haunt for local trainers Martin Pipe, Paul Nicholls and Philip Hobbs who seldom leave any of the venue's meetings empty handed.

Jumping enthusiasts are so lucky to see the leading jockeys at close quarters at Taunton; it's like seeing David Beckham playing local Conference football.

Don't even contemplate counting your winnings until your bet has negotiated the third-last fence, the first in the home straight. It comes soon after the final bend and often catches out even the normally sure footed jumper.

There have been a number of improvements made over the years at Taunton, which have made it one of the friendliest places to visit. It's beautiful location in the Blackdown Hills means it is blessed with favourable weather conditions, which often means that Taunton can race when other courses are forced to be abandoned.
