Few experiences arouse the senses more than the sight and
sound of thoroughbred racehorses in full flight. It's a spectacle
that's captured the imagination for more than a hundred years
at Newton Abbot which has enjoyed a fine tradition of competitive
racing since 1866.
Newton Abbot is the leading summer jumping
racecourse in the UK. It is therefore a showcase for the industry
and aims to provide
quality competitive National Hunt racing to a wide audience
drawn from both the general public and from the corporate sector.
It
also aims to provide an efficient and attractive setting for
non-racing activities that generate income and acts as a
means of promoting the site and the industry and an increasing
attractive target for sponsors.
In short Newton Abbot aims to
be the venue of choice for all our customers, racing and non-racing
alike
Newton Abbot combines an excellent location, good access
from the motorways and local airport with a genuinely beautiful
setting
to support this objective. It has an ambience that is extremely
popular with race goers, owners and trainers. The quality of
its racing product is built on its summer season.
